Karen Forbes

Karen is a former English and Drama teacher, holds a BA in English and Theatre Studies from Warwick University, and recently graduated from the University of East Anglia’s MA Creative Writing: Scriptwriting and Screenplay programme.

 She has worked mainly in Education directing, producing, stage managing, writing and devising performance material. Karen has worked with Sewell Barn, Plays Rough, Criterion Theatre Coventry, Norfolk and Norwich Operatic Society and is a former member of Norwich Writers’ Circle and Jersey Writers group. Additionally, Karen is a volunteer mentor with the Prince’s Trust and runs workshops for young people and adults returning to work. Recently, she has run classes and workshops for creative writing and wellbeing journal writing within the Further Education sector. During her teaching career, Karen was selected for the Prince of Wales Summer School in Stratford-upon-Avon, working in residence with the Royal Shakespeare Company.
